Online Consultations Fees and Services
Individual Therapy Appointment: Initial Consultation (50 minutes) - $245
Individual Therapy Appointment: Subsequent Consultation (50 minutes) - $235
At Selfful Psychology our fees are set in accordance with the Australian Association of Psychologists Incorporated (AAPi) recommended fee guide, which in 2024/2025 is $315 for a standard 40-60 minute consultation with a psychologist.
Payments: Please note that all appointments booked online (via Halaxy) require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due at the time of your consultation. Payments are processed securely through our online management system, and a paid invoice will be emailed to you for your records once payment has been received.
Medicare: Clients can access a Medicare rebate with a Metal Health Care Plan (MHCP), the Medicare rebate is currently set at $96.65 for the above fees. After your session, will need to pay the full fee above and then you will receive the Medicare rebate after your claim has been processed. Please note, that at this stage Selfful Psychology is unfortunately unable to provide Bulk Billing services. If you have reached your Medicare Safety net for the year, your rebate may be higher. You can check whether you have reached your Medicare safety net through your myGov.
Private Health Cover: Alternatively, if you wish to access sessions privately or do not have a MHCP you may be eligible to claim sessions with your Private Health Cover. We suggest that its best to check if you are able to claim with your Health Insurance Provider prior to your appointment. If you are able to claim, all you need to do is take your receipt to your Health Insurance Provider and make the relevant claim. This is only applicable if you are not already using the Medicare rebate. Please reach out to your Health Insurance Provider for further assistance regarding claiming.
Cancelation Policy: Any changes or cancellations are require more than 24 hours notice before your scheduled appointment. Any changes i.e., needing to reschedule, non-attendance or missing sessions or cancelations within 24 hours will incur a cancellation fee of the full standard session fee ($235). If you have booked online and have paid the deposit and then cancel your appointment, we will retain the capacity, at our absolute discretion, to withhold your deposit and charge the remainder of the full appointment fee. Cancellation fees are the responsibility of the client. Please note that Medicare and Private Health Funds do not provide rebates and claims for cancelled sessions.
